Born in Tokyo, Laya grew up listening to music like Motown Sound under the influence of her monther.

She learned music making and record while working on a gospel team before returning to Japan.

Her original voice with overtones as fine as silk is utilized in full through both the Japanese and English language, gracing not just R&B but also finds itself expressed in Hip Hip and Pop collaborations.
